Rupali belongs to a very poor tribal family from Dhadari Village of Jawhar Block. She is 3 1/2 years old .She has almost no clothes to wear and her parents do not bother about her hygiene or education as they are illiterate. The parents' annual income is only 3000/- so they can’t provide all the necessary things for her. Sometimes, they migrate to urban areas for one or two months leaving Rupali with their neighbors.
It is necessary to get pre – school education before being
enrolled 1st standard. There are preschools for tribal children in remote areas of Jawhar block of the Thane district. Govt. Anganwadi is available at the main village but Pada village is very far away. We have set up a Balwadi for the children of Pada and the surrounding villages.
.
Rupali is now attending our school. We are teaching her how to take care of her hygiene as well as educating her. She enjoys coming to school and playing with all the toys.
