The Talawali village is 20 KM away from NARAD office. The NARAD has been working in this village from last 5 years. While organizing the events and program the issue was come out from women. There are many women are interested to doing course of Tailoring and starting their own financial source. There are several hamlets in surrounding area of Talawali village and includes bigger female category out of this
mostly girls are retain at home leaving of their school for house work. Some women made contact with NARAD office for getting tailoring training. At the same time, AMMADA Trust was donated sewing machines. It was the coincident moment. “Tailoring training class” inaugurated on 11/01/2016 with the auspicious hands of Mr. Arjun Menon, Ammada Trust, Mumbai at Talawali village. The training has divided in four batches, duration of one batch determined for three month. Mrs.Jayshree Varatha appointed as instructor for the course. She had a very good experience of teaching this course. Earlier this she was run a same training course at BAIF Center Jawhar. She has been obtained excellent knowledge of tailoring. Following course items has been included in this training course. In the beginning of the course to introduce the parts of sewing machines and partly repairing of machines. Guidance of how to move paddles and wheel while stitching. How to make hand stitches, How to attaché buttons and hooks to stitched cloths. How to take measurements, How to handle scissor, 1)stitches of laces and bags 2) Simple lace pants 3) various types of Skirts (Simple Skirts, frill skirts, Skirts with Plates, stitch able skirts, Umbrella skirts, Simple petticoat 4) Simple sleeve frock 5) Designs and frill frock 6) Various types of Blouses (simple blouse, bowl type blouse, neck design blouses) 7) Shirts & Pants 8) various designs of Punjabi dresses 9) To arrange practice and examine the stitched sample’s prepared by students 10) To arrange practices test and written examination. First batch started from 11/01/2016. Total 30 trainees were enrolled for this first batch. All trainees were comes from surrounding villages of Talawali. This is why the training center has started at Talawali. The hall for training course is provided grampanchayat on free of cost.
